New Year… New Planner

The thoughts and opinions in this post are entirely my own. I am not affiliated with Michaels or Me and My Big Ideas. I am just a huge fan of the product so I thought I would share about it. I received no compensation for this post.  All images are my own.

As we fast approach the start of the new year I thought an excellent way to kick off my commitment to my blog would be to write  about my amazing new planner.  Yes that’s right I’m devoting a whole post to my planner.  Which those who know me will find amusing because for the longest time time I was a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl.

Even I find it amusing but it’s one of things I’ve noticed since getting my depression, under control.  I now thrive on schedule, any change to my schedule can make for serious irritation, and irritability.  Which means the past two weeks have been pretty bad. Miss Determination has been on winter break, and  for some reason Bald Man decided he needed to take the week between Christmas and New Years off.  It’s been a long two weeks, don’t get me wrong I love Bald Man but I don’t love having him home 24/7. However I’m getting off topic so let me get back on topic My new Planner.

I recently discovered Me and my big Ideas Happy Planner, I know what you are thinking have you been living under a rock for the past few year?  No I haven’t I promise I just didn’t see the point in a paper planner, or any planner for that matter.  Planning always seemed dumb to me, I wanted to live in the moment.  Which I did for the first few years of motherhood, which in case you didn’t know doesn’t work.

I found my planner at, it’s the Create 365 The Classic Happy Planner Jujube Mom.  It’s fantastic and has one of my favorite quotes about motherhood on it, plus I found it on  sale which is always amazing.

Now those of you who are unfamiliar with Happy Planners, they are amazing because they give you a monthly and weekly layout. I know that most planner do this but the great thing about Happy Planners is that they give you plenty of space to decorate and make it your own.  Which is great for a mommy who needs to plan life and be creative.  You can by a variety of accessories for them, from sticker pad, to extra page inserts you name it they probably have it. If you want to make your planner completely customized you can build it from scratch, that’s just a little to much for me to put on my plate right now. The accessories available, are unlimited, stay tuned for future posts about my planner must have.

Happy Planners are pretty much the create your own calendar they used to sell in the late nineties and aughts.  Which if you haven’t guessed I was a huge fan of, I think I had them for like 4 or 5 straight years, I might even still have them in a box somewhere.  If you want to see my weekly layout outs check out my instagram page mommyvsart.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Years Eve, and stay tuned for some great content coming in 2019.
